Join Rabbi Professor Rachel Adler for an evening exploring the history and theology of communal confession (Vidui).
Join Rabbi Lisa Edwards & Cantor Juval Porat as we bid farewell to the last Shabbat of 5778, preparing our souls and our Torah scrolls for the Days of Awe through music, personal reflection, and prayer.
Session 4: Wake Up and Shine A Light
With Cantor Juval Porat
Tuesday, September 4, 2018 | 7:30pm – 9:00pm
An evening of exploration of themes, texts, and practices of the month of Elul and the roles of silence, song, and text in spiritual practice.
Every year, as the Days of Awe approach BCC’s clergy come together to plan services. Our personal experiences, preferences and inspirations taken from years past all go into the planning process. We strive to create spiritual experiences that will resonate with our congregation. In our High Holy Day preparations, we’ll explore some of the rituals typical to a BCC High Holiday service, and invite you to offer ideas, thoughts and suggestions — whether personal or drawn from other services you have attended or heard about — that we might weave into our BCC services this year. We look forward to ritualizing with you!
