Today was our final day together and we made our way from Montgomery to Atlanta. On our way we stopped at the Tuskegee Army Flying Training site and then crossed the Georgia border and into Eastern Standard time! From there we drove to Atlanta while watching Driving Miss Daisy. We visited Municipal Market for lunch and then went over to Martin Luther King Jr.’s home and burial site and wandered around his neighborhood. It had been an extraordinary trip and I am grateful to have been able to join, learn, laugh and deepen connections with everyone. A true pleasure and honor. Tonight we are attending Shabbat services at Bet Haverim, a queer sibling synagogue, here in Atlanta.

Shabbat Shalom to one and all! See you next week back in LA!

On Thursday, we continued our time in Montgomery and visited the incredible Legacy Museum created by the Equal Justice Initiative. From there we went to the Rosa Parks Museum and then to the Montgomery Public Library where we met with Dr. Valda Harris Montgomery who lived a few doors down from Martin Luther King Jr. when she was growing up. Her story was powerful and beautifully told. We were grateful for her time and she now has a BCC mug as a token of our appreciation. We ended the day with a lovely group dinner! One more day together!
